FUN DAY EVENT

This is intended to be a fun day - if you do
not want to do any of the sections just do the ones you think you would
enjoy!!!
Dressage Test -
BHDTA Novice no.7
Judge Mr. Mark Broadbent
Cones - will follow dressage test
Short Marathon (to be timed, ponies
and vehicle to be checked before this phase) and 3 Obstacles on return from
marathon.
Rosettes - to 6th place for overall
competition, and to 3rd place for individual phases.
No presentation but smart dress or marathon
outfits. Hard hats to be worn on marathon phase. The Judges decisions are
final. Neither the organizers or landowners accepts any liability for any
accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, drivers,
grooms, spectators and/or any person or property whatsoever' whether caused
by their negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever. The
organizers reserve the right to omit or amalgamate any class due to lack of
entries. All entries must have their own third party insurance cover or be
fully paid up members of the BDS. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
Competitors are allowed to walk the cones
course once. The wheel width ruling will not be enforced. The leading or
riding of ponies/horses around the obstacles prior to competing is not
allowed. Competitors may walk the obstacles Saturday afternoon 19th or
Sunday morning. Overnight parking on Sat 19th is available, please indicate
on entry form if this is required Please leave the event venue tidy and take
your waste home with you.
Entry fee £10 for class 1 & 2, £5 for each

Maggy Barber and Margaret Deane
run a carriage driving group for disabled drivers at Roadwater (between
Taunton and Minehead). The group is running smoothly BUT
really would like to have another Able Bodied Whip to drive with them on
Tuesday mornings April to October. If you feel you could help please contact

Training/Fun
Day/Weekend
At
Easter Hall Park Sat 10th and/or 11th May
This event will offer lots of
flexibility, firstly you can come for 1 or 2 days and you can camp over if
you wish.
You can come with or without
your own turnout.
We hope to offer a pre-season
warm up for the more experienced competitor with obstacles, cones course,
dressage arena and instructor available [weather permitting].
We can also offer training for
all the above topics, for those drivers ready to start getting to grips with
horse driving trials.
Anyone interested in taking
their competency test could come for training and possibly a test as well.
Onlookers welcome, come and see
what its all about.

New Tachograph Rules
are now in force. Any vehicle or combination with a
maximum gross weight over 7500 kg must use a tachograph (e.g. 7.5 t lorry plus any
trailer). A guide to the rules is on the
documents page. Remember
that tachographs must be calibrated every six years,
inspected every two years and be sealed accordingly to be legal. Drivers hours
regulations apply when using a tachograph.

WATO Rules.
A guide to the legislation is on the documents page. The legislation only
applies to animals used in connection with a business activity . A business
needs to have an Animal Transport Authorisation Certificate from the State
Veterinary Service and the individuals concerned the relevant competence
tests.
